What is High Density Polyethylene and Low Density Polyethylene / HDPE and LDPE?

Polyethylene, also referred to as PE, is a form of thermoplastic insulation.  PE is found in various forms.  It can be solid (common form) or foamed.  One of the characteristics of Polyethylene is the stiffness or rigidness of the material.  Low Density Polyethylene, also referred to as LDPE, is the more flexible form of Polyethylene, while High Density Polyethylene, HDPE, is more rigid and hard.
