Galaxy is Now DBE-Certified and in the PA UCP

Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program (PA UCP) logoGalaxy Wire and Cable, Inc. announces that it has been certified as a Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT). This certification allows Galaxy to participate in the Pennsylvania Unified Certification Program (PA UCP). The certification became official on October 25, 2019. Galaxy is now eligible for PA UCP opportunities and is included on the list of qualified PA UCP DBE concerns found on the PA UCP website. See Galaxy’s About Us page for the latest info.

In an ongoing effort to continually improve and grow the company, Galaxy’s DBE certification is another step in that direction. Earlier in 2019 Galaxy became HUBZone certified, which has allows Galaxy to support government Prime Contractors. With the DBE certification, Galaxy is now eligible to participate on any Federal Aviation Administration, Federal Highway Administration and the Federal Transit Administration funded contract as a DBE.

The DBE program was developed by the United States Department of Transportation (US DOT) in 1983. The goal of the program was to ensure that at least 10% of the funds authorized for DOT work be expended with companies that are DBE certified. In 1987 Congress added Women Owned firms to the groups presumed to be disadvantaged. With this DBE certification and the HUBZone certification, Galaxy is a highly sought-after supplier for quality products and meeting these requirements too. Eligible offerings include anything from basic wire to complex custom designed cables to wire harnesses and cable assemblies.

Please contact Galaxy to learn more about this DBE certification and supplying your company’s wire, cable, wire harness or cable assembly needs.
